Street art covers every wall — the Bushwick Collective is the largest outdoor gallery in New York, and the nightlife stays up until 6am.

Bushwick went from "don't go there" to "the most exciting neighborhood in Brooklyn" in about fifteen years, driven by cheap warehouse rents and a young creative class. The Bushwick Collective — murals covering every wall along Troutman Street and the surrounding blocks — is the largest outdoor gallery in NYC and worth an afternoon just walking and looking.

**Walk:** Take the L train to Jefferson Street. Exit and immediately you're at the heart of the Bushwick Collective — walk Troutman, Wyckoff, Starr, Melrose. Each block has murals by international street artists that get refreshed every summer. Bogart Street has a handful of galleries (Signal, Luhring Augustine Bushwick). End on Wilson Avenue for coffee at Little Skips or House of Yes for a late-night queer dance party.

**What makes it special:** The density of public art is unmatched. Also, Bushwick has become the center of Brooklyn nightlife — the warehouses are now clubs, music venues, and dance parties that run until 6am.

**Eat & drink:** Roberta's (pizza, started the whole scene), House of Yes (performance club), Blue Stove (brunch), Tortilleria Mexicana Los Hermanos (make-your-own tacos factory).
